How long you have worked for Althams: Since I was old enough to hold a brush and sweep the farm yard or wash a chiller! I finally came into the butchery business full time in 1994.

What a typical day consists of: Everything from dealing with our supply chain, ensuring our strategy of growth and investment is fulfilled, making sure the business deliveries excellent quality and service to our customers.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal: British pork belly with Real Lancashire Black Pudding

Hobbies: Cycling, running & my family

Operations Director

How long you have worked for Althams: My first memory of working here was stringing meat and accompanying delivery drivers on their rounds. I was 8 years old and don't believe I was on the books as I cant recall receiving a wage.

What a typical day consists of: Overseeing what, where, why and how things are working. Always planning where we can improve.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal: Roasted Angus Carvery Rib of Beef and Roasted GOS Pork Loin. The fattier the better.

Hobbies: Spending time with my son, attending my local gym, cycling, shooting and fishing when in season.

What a typical day consists of: The running of credit control department.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal: Althams fillet steak served at the Blue Mountain Restaurant in Morecambe, with their brilliant Stilton Sauce.

Hobbies: Being with my Grandchildren and walking.

Antonia Altham

How long you have worked for Althams: I began working here after finishing my A-Levels and now I work in-between studying at Loughborough University.

What a typical day consists of: I first began by helping the girls in the office with administration and taking orders on the phone. This involved filing accounts, invoices and putting orders onto the system - I also delivered meat when local chefs needed a top up. One of my largest responsibilities is looking after the sales team and making sure they're fed and watered! What's your favorite cut of meat/meal: My favourite thing to eat from Althams are the Chicken and Chorizo kebabs marinated in Piri Piri.

Hobbies: Hockey, looking after Uncle Rick, spending time with my sisters and the family, and general student things like shopping and going out!

What a typical day consists of: Product developing, testing, tasting and being whipped by the Sales Manager & Ops Director!!!

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal: mmmm, tough one, would have to go with cote de Bouef but also love G.O.S Pork, pork is underused and underrated!!

Hobbies: Keen golfer and all things Wigan Athletic, Wigan Warriors and pies of course.....

What a typical day consists of: I work closely with NPD and Production to problem solve and strive for improvements within our quality/productions systems to ensure the best quality product and efficient methods of working.

Hobbies: I enjoy going to the gym mainly fitness classes, shopping and going out for nice meals

What inspired you to join Althams:  I wanted to join a forward thinking, entrepreneurial business where there was an opportunity to add value to the people and training function.  I'm passionate about supporting the business to grow, retain and attract the best talent to come and work for us.  I grew up on a hill farm for 20 years when I was a child and therefore appreciate the products which we provide and know we source the very best for our customers.

What a typical day consists of: My week is pretty varied but in a nutshell the people strategy is there to support the business strategy.  There's always lots to do and we are continuing to evolve.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal:   A nice juicy fillet steak

What inspired you to join Althams:  Althams fantastic brand heritage - they must be doing something right if they've been around since 1856!  It's a great team who pride themselves on traditional farming and butchery skills and attention to customer care.

What a typical day consists of: It's really diverse - lots of opportunity to get involved from organising meetings to reviewing marketing strategies to support key business aims.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal:  Ooh it has to be a medium rare sirloin with peppercorn sauce.

Hobbies: Fair weather kayaking (!), the gym, watching classic movies.

What inspired you to join Althams:  To be part of a business with a great reputation within the Meat industry and work with the Directors to support and develop the current business and future expansion plans with a move to a purpose built new factory.

What a typical day consists of: Every day is different with challenges and opportunities to improve.  I work with and support my colleagues from all sections of the business working to one common goal - to produce great quality products for our customers and to achieve a 100% service level.

What's your favourite cut of meat/meal:  Rib eye steak - cooked medium with chips, mushrooms etc.

Hobbies: Spending quality time with my family, dining out, putting the BBQ on and playing golf (not very well).

What inspired you to join Althams:  This is a new challenge for me as I previously worked in the laundry industry.

What a typical day consists of:   Conducting preventitive maintenance in the factory, also reacting to any engineering based problems.  Dealing with contractor monitoring and ensuring the plant runs in a smooth and efficient manner.
