Customer Support Advisor - Nights

Your mastery

Due to our continual growth and investment we are recruiting a Customer Service Advisor to work evenings at our office in Morecambe.

Your key responsibilities will include:-

o To process customer orders taken over the phone, email, fax and answer phone and enter the details accurately onto our system

o To proactively upsell daily specials to customers

o To ensure that customers are reaching the minimum order amount

o Proactively build knowledge and understanding of existing and new customers

o Receive any customer feedback and pass to the appropriate person

The key ingredients

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, telephone etiquette and be able to use a computer efficiently. As the role requires information to be processed on our systems you must have excellent attention to detail to ensure minimum errors. You should have gained previous experience within a similar role.

Personality is important in this role, we want someone who demonstrates a positive attitude to work and who can communicate effectively with our customers. High levels of energy are required due to the role being fast paced.

The hours for the role will be 7:00pm until 11:15pm worked over 4 nights Sunday to Friday (we are closed Saturday night). 

Customer Support Advisor

Bespoke Product Team Leader

We are recruiting a Team Leader - Bespoke Products, Burger and Sausage Room at our factory in Morecambe. Your role will involve supporting the Factory Manager to lead the team of operatives so that the dual objectives of excellent customer service and a high level of efficiency and cost effectiveness are simultaneously achieved.

Your mastery

• The role requires management of staff, equipment and resources in an optimum way to maximise throughput and minimise waste.

• To lead, manage and motivate a team of staff to deliver key performance targets, safely, effectively and efficiently to meet customer specifications and requirements.

• To be a proactive and constructive member of the Factory Management Team and to proactively support the maintenance and development of the company’s reputation as an excellent butcher and a great place to work.

• To contribute to factory management meetings and cascade key messages to the team.

• To be responsible for the correct standard and specification of products, as per the order sheet system and/or specification sheet, and the timely despatch of the orders.

• To ensure that customer orders are completed fully each day by the team in an efficient and motivated manner.

• To ensure there is no deterioration of products and prepared stock by the team.

• To ensure that all stock and products are stored correctly by the team.

• To ensure cleanliness of the production areas and to abide all Health and Hygiene rules as laid out by the Company at all times.

 Goods In Team Leader

Reporting into the Factory Manager you will lead and manage the team of people within the Goods In department so that the dual objectives of excellent customer service and a high level of efficiency and cost effectiveness are simultaneously achieved. To be a proactive and constructive member of the Factory Management Team and to proactively support the maintenance and development of the company’s reputation as an excellent butcher and a great place to work.

Your mastery

  • The Team Leader monitors and manages all aspects of performance on the shift for which he/she is responsible.
  • Incoming deliveries are planned and organised so that Goods In can operate in an efficient and effective fashion. The Team Leader liaises closely with the Purchasing Manager in this respect.
  • All of the necessary checks are made on all incoming deliveries:
  • Any deliveries which do not meet the company’s quality standards or which were not ordered by the company are immediately returned to the supplier.
  • Goods received are stored in the correct location.
  • Safe working practices are in place for all operations within the department and are employed by all staff at all times.
  • Constructive and respectful working relationships are maintained with suppliers at all times
  • The resources available to the department are proactively managed, with careful prioritisation and allocation of tasks, so that they are used as efficiently as possible.
  • The Team Leader works closely with the Maintenance Team ensuring that all machinery failures and potential failures are speedily communicated to the Maintenance Team.
  • The Team Leader works closely with the Factory Manager and QA Manager to ensure that all Goods In processes and procedures are fit for purpose and are respected and adhered to by all members of staff.
  • The pre-agreed hygiene and housekeeping standards are consistently achieved.
  • The Team Leader contributes to the efficient and effective implementation of necessary changes within the department by supporting the Factory Manager and communicating effectively with the members of his or her team, both individually and collectively.
  • Whenever problems occur, root causes are identified and corrective and preventative actions agreed and implemented so as to minimise the probability of any recurrence.
  • The Team Leader contributes to the training and induction of new team members, as requested.
  • Performance and absence management of team
  • At any time when the Team Leader is not actively engaged with his or her responsibilities as a Team Leader, he or she is a productive, constructive and efficient member of the Goods In Team.

The key ingredients

This role would ideally suit someone who has leadership experience within the Goods In department ideally within food manufacturing (although not essential). This is a fantastic role to join a growing business within a role which includes a high level of influence and autonomy.

 Assistant Factory Manager

We are seeking a talented Assistant Factory Manager to act as no 2 to the Factory Manager and support in managing all aspects of the factory so that the dual objectives of excellent customer service and a high level of efficiency and cost effectiveness are simultaneously achieved. The Assistant Factory Manager will be a proactive and constructive member of the Factory Management team and will support the maintenance and development of the company’s reputation as an excellent butcher and a great place to work.

Your mastery

• To proactively communicate the company’s vision, strategy and values and to ensure that all employees within the factory understand how their individual efforts contribute to the achievement of overall company objectives.

• To ensure that resources are managed so that the planned customer service levels are consistently achieved.

• To set housekeeping and health and safety standards for the factory and ensure they are met.

• To monitor and manages all aspects of performance within the factory, including food safety, raw material yields, the quality of the product, the quantities produced and the performance and behaviour of staff.

• All categories of stock, including WIP, are proactively managed so that the minimum level of stock is carried which is commensurate with the achievement of the pre-agreed levels of customer service.

• To proactively manage the management structure, staff, skills and systems within the factory in order to maximise operational performance.

• To seek continuous improvement in the operations of the factory, ensuring that best practice is understood and implemented.

• To ensure that quality control is managed through the departmental teams.

• To ensure that all legal and audit requirements, including health & safety, are met.

The key ingredients

This is a key leadership role within the factory management team. To be successful in this role you will need to have previous experience of a similar role within a food manufacturing environment (ideally meat or poultry), demonstrate strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams, knowledge of HACCAP and health and safety regulations, possess financial and commercial awareness, the ability to influence at all levels within a Company and be comfortable with driving results in a fast paced manufacturing environment. 

 

Class C Driver (Casual Contract)

Your mastery

We are seeking an experienced Class C Driver with full CPC to delivery products from our Head office in Morecambe to sites across the UK.

Your responsibilities:-

  • To deliver products and carry out collections on the return journey to deadlines
  • To drive safely and courteously representing the Althams brand at all times
  • To carry out basic manual handling techniques
  • To drive in line legal requirements
  • Provide great customer service skills

The key ingredients

We are looking for a Class C Driver who has previous experience, is physically fit, efficient and can demonstrate a positive attitude.

This role would be working on a casual contract, therefore would suit someone who is interested in part time hour

 

Butcher (Days)

We are seeking an experienced Butcher to join our day shift operations team at our plant in Morecambe.

Your mastery

  •   To be responsible for the correct standard and specification of meat, as per the order sheet system and/or specification sheet, and the timely despatch of the orders.
  • To ensure the customer orders are completed fully each day in an efficient and motivated manner.
  • To ensure there is no deterioration of products and prepared stock, taking care to select oldest stock first for preparation of order.
  •  At the close of business ensuring all stock and products are stored correctly, according to date, in the appropriate chiller or freezer.
  • At all times to be suitably dressed and wear all the protective clothing and equipment supplied by the Company, and to be responsible for these items.
  • To ensure cleanliness of the production areas and to abide all Health and Hygiene rules as laid out by the Company at all times.
  • To use the equipment for its purpose at all times, including colour coded equipment.
  •  To ensure that the correct procedures of manual handling and packing of meat are followed at all times.
  •  To ensure all machinery and equipment are stripped down and rinsed ready for the Factory Cleaner.

Full training will be provided.

 All equipment and PPE will be provided.

The hours will be 7:00am until 4:00pm (40 hours per week).

Catering Chef (Altham Fine Foods)

Althams Fine Foods specialise in providing quality ready meals for supermarkets. We operate a state of the art facility in Morecambe, Lancashire. Due to our continued growth we are seeking a full time sous chef to be responsible for the daily cooking of our meals.

This role isn’t a typical Chef role, it requires someone of Chef calibre who is able to work in a manufacturing or large scale catering environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily cooking of meals for production
  • Ensure correct measures and recipes are followed at all time
  • Development of new products
  • Monitor and management of wastage to ensure effective cost control
  • Follow processes and procedures in line with HACCAP
  • Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner in line with protocol
